The 2026 pricing guide
How much does PPF cost in Vancouver?
The honest answer, with real numbers. What paint protection film costs here, what actually drives the price, and how to avoid paying twice for a cheap install.
The short answer
In premium, self-healing film, professionally installed in Vancouver, expect these starting points. They reflect coupes and sedans; SUVs, trucks and exotics are quoted individually because there is simply more surface, and more curve, to protect.
Partial Front
Bumper and a portion of the hood. The minimum meaningful protection for the most exposed areas.
Full Front Most popular
Full hood, bumper, fenders and mirrors. The sweet spot of protection versus cost for most owners.
Track & Sport
Full front plus rockers, splitters and high-strike zones, for cars that see the Sea-to-Sky often.
Full Vehicle
Every painted panel, for total preservation and resale provenance.
What actually drives the price
The film itself. Premium self-healing films like STEK DYNOshield and Canadian-made PROTEK cost genuinely more per roll than budget film, and they behave differently: light swirls heal with warmth, the film stays optically clear, and the manufacturer backs it for up to ten years against yellowing, cracking and lifting, in your name.
Your car's shape and size. A 911's curves demand more skill and more film than a flat sedan panel. SUVs simply carry more surface. Deep bumper vents, sharp splitters and sensor cut-outs all add hand-work.
The prep. Proper installs begin with a wash and full clay decontamination, so nothing is sealed under the film. This takes hours that cheap quotes skip.
Who applies it. At RainCity every panel is pattern-cut, hand-applied and edge-wrapped by Onyx, the owner, then inspected under bright inspection lighting. You inspect it too, before you pay a cent.
The real cost of cheap PPF
A bargain install usually saves a few hundred dollars up front, then costs more later. Low-grade film can yellow and lift within a couple of years. Unwrapped edges collect dirt lines and peel. And removing failed film is risky and expensive, sometimes lifting paint with it. If a quote looks too good, ask three questions: which film exactly, are the edges wrapped, and is the warranty registered in my name?

PPF pricing, answered.
How much does PPF cost in Vancouver? +
In premium self-healing film: partial front from $890, full front from $1,790, track & sport from $2,490, and full vehicle from $4,990. Starting prices reflect coupes and sedans; SUVs, trucks and exotics are quoted individually.
Why do PPF prices vary so much between shops? +
Film quality, coverage honesty, prep work and installer skill. Budget quotes often use lower-grade film, skip decontamination, leave edges unwrapped, or cover less of the panel than you think. The correction costs of a bad install usually exceed the savings.
Is expensive PPF worth it over cheap PPF? +
Premium film carries a manufacturer warranty of up to ten years against yellowing, cracking and lifting, registered in your name. Cheap film can yellow and lift within a couple of years, and removing failed film risks damaging the paint it was meant to protect.
